Richmond feels like countryside within the city. The pace slows the moment you arrive. Wide green spaces, river walks, and open skies make it one of the easiest places in London to breathe. The centrepiece is Richmond Park: vast, peaceful, and home to herds of deer that roam freely across the landscape. It’s one of the few places in London where the city genuinely disappears. Down by the water, the Thames adds another layer of calm. Posh riverside pubs and cafés fill up on sunny afternoons, with people lingering over drinks while watching boats drift past along the River Thames. It’s noticeably quieter than central London and ideal if you want fresh air, long walks, and a slower rhythm.
